... Those are assumptions, not facts.

I didn't stop you because I knew if I didn't have the time and space I needed, I was just going to lash out and hurt you more than I already was.

But even when you were mad before, you still got all protective.

So I was worried the reason you didn't was because...because I really had done it and you were starting to hate me. And...and I didn't know how to deal with that...I was scared, but I didn't know what to do and I didn't know who to talk to and I...

In all the time you've known me, have I ever really hated anyone? I don't understand how you could possibly think that.

I don't know. You've gone berserk and there were...terrible things in your heart, so it doesn't seem impossible. And I haven't seen everyone you know. Maybe I just never saw you around someone you hated or maybe I just never noticed.

Maybe you were just too kind to not say anything.

So when that happened, I got....I got really, really scared.

But that's not something you need to worry about. Put it out of your mind.

You tell me not to act like nothing's wrong, but then you go and act like nothing's wrong as long as it's your fault! I don't think terribly of you! I'm the one whose always messing up! Even when I do something RIGHT, it's always in a sea of wrong, wrong, wrong! I can't even die at the right time without making everyone feel sad or awkward and I make everyone who doesn't know me feel worse! Of course why wouldn't I do something wrong with the one person willing to treat me like he always does?!

[Carefully ignores the first part like a boss]

Arguments are a fact of life. People make mistakes. You don't need to feel like it's the end of everything when they happen.

But that aside... Who's been treating you differently?

Arguments...they can still mean people get angry or bitter or say things they shouldn't and I don't...I don't know when I've done it...

[Looking away at the second part.] ...I shouldn't have said that.

And people do get angry and say the wrong things. I get angry and say the wrong things. But that's not the same as hate, not even a little. If you spend all of your time afraid of doing that, you'll drive yourself crazy.

... And if that's something that's been bothering you, then yes, you should have said something.
