Who: Anyone!
When: Day 38, afternoon
Where: Anywhere
What: Mingle
[ It is now the afternoon! What moronic things have you been up to so far today, Thusia? ]

[ SHEESH??? ]
How are they deciding who to take, anyway?
no subject
It really is a good question. I couldn't even begin to guess.
no subject
- So it's really just the one person for you, huh? Though I guess having people familiar with your world must make some things easier, too...
no subject
But so is an apartment full of kind people.
no subject
Did you like it? Delphinus?
no subject
...yes. Sometimes people were too stuffy and really far too serious. But there was a lot of people who had a chance to find a good life. And the people I knew were so very kind.
Life was simple, but I loved those times the most. [When she wasn't going crazy, anyway.]
no subject
Wish I could have seen it for myself.
no subject
And what about your home? What was it like?
no subject
[ heaps and layers of bitterness, guilt, (hope), annoyance...?, slight homesickness ]
But I wasn't given much of a grand viewpoint to begin with, anyway.
no subject
But even in the roughest life, there was always something good though, right?
no subject
[ longing ]
Somehow, though, I loved my country, even though I hated nearly everything about it.
[ back to bitternessss ]
no subject
Hmm, well, it was your home, regardless of the circumstances you lived in.
no subject
Yeah. Just wish someone had toppled the monarchy a lot sooner.
[ flips through bitterness-pride (for someone else)-guilt-anger-worry-fury-anticipation pretty rapidly one at a time, none of this is showing on his face or in his tone ]
It'll probably be a nice place as a republic.
[ interwoven hope and irritated cynicism all through that sentence. ]
no subject
A coup then.
Hm, I think you're right. A land fought for by it's people is often treasured.
no subject
[ satisfactionnnn but ]
... Yeah. Most people felt that way, that it was a good country with everything wrong with it, so of course they'd want to fix it.
[ and the self-loathing is nearly enough to show on his face. ]
no subject
[There's a pause, looking at his face.] Did you?
no subject
[ spike of paranoia, selfhateselfhateselfhateselfhate ]
I grew up in the slums. The government didn't even think of us as people. No one should have to live that way, let alone most of a country's population.
[ potentially healthier shift to government hate? vague disappointment, more bitterness ]
no subject
no subject
[ bitter again, vaguely smug(?), irritated... ]
no subject
no subject
Mm.
'S why I'm not too keen on the kids trying to set up laws here.
no subject
...oh, I did hear something about that.
[There's a pause.] You're that worried about it?
no subject
[ negative expectations, but more irritation than worry ]
no subject
There's a good part of our population that suffered under tyranny. They would want to avoid it at all costs.
But no, I can't blame you for being wary. And wary is good. As long as it's wariness and not assumption, then it helps keep the system healthy.

If power's spread out enough and those people have a voice, that's one thing, but this looks like it's being organized by two people, and they both seem pretty confident in their ability to uphold their rules.
