[It's still cold and snowing, and there is an AWFUL LOUD noise outside.

Even from far away, you can see it: there is an ENORMOUS MASS of green glow-in-the-dark, thick, massive vines that are actively crawling from the forest and pouring themselves into the lake. They are going deep. How deep is that lake?

The lake is also glowing itself as they pour in...]

[EVENT! Anyone can join if they like, anyone. People and gods. Some buildup and exploration / partying up / "what the hell" for the next hour is fine, the actual event starts at 8 EST (one hour).

Hey, can I have your attention? Who wants to know what's going on under the lake?

Did you get a look?

There's a whole ruined city down there, in some kind of subterranean underwater cave.

Also, the vines are going after the fish-scythe-things' eggs. Or something's eggs: they look like frog eggs, so I can't really be sure.

They're being preyed upon, then...

A ruined one. It looks like one humans built, even if the fish things live there now.

And, yeah. Probably why they're so eager to get out of the lake and away from the forest. I don't know why it started now, though.

....it might be that something drives the vines themselves from the forest. Unless it's hunger itself.

Or the cold meant they didn't have whatever they normally do.

Underwater cave with a ruined city. The fish things were nesting there. The vines are trying to get in and eat their eggs.

Well, it certainly looks like it's draining something from the animals and eggs it catches.

[She has conjured the image of a vine with a gaping, thorn-lined maw. Tries to shake it off.]

Perhaps the snow drove them here in search of food.

Could be. It's probably worse in the mountains.

If that's the case, other creatures may soon come down here.

Maybe we should check things out in the morning. Once we decide what to do about this tonight.

Is that so. I don't think we should be letting this foliage over take our water supplies, right?

Our water supplies probably have some protection, but I can't say I like having a carnivorous vine this close to our living space, even if it prefers caviar to eating us.

A threat's a threat. And here I thought we left all the weird stuff back in the jungle.

Somehow I think there's weird stuff all over this planet. Wherever people used to live.
