What: returning from good decisions and feelings

[So Konoha Ninja and Prince Ninja already managed to get in themselves beaten up ~~though they totally killed the spiders anyway~~ and after an unexpected encounter while in the shrine room, they are finally going back to Apartment N~~inja~~.]

That won't happen again. For me to give up so early and to act so rashly— I'm ashamed of myself. Even though I wanted to save you, I didn't think things through carefully. I got too emotional.

For that and for asking you to leave me behind after what you told me, I apologize.

... I'll accept that only if you understand what I was aiming to do.

By distracting the creature and bringing its attention to me, I'm obviously the weaker prey. It might have gone after me, and I could have run to force it to move away from you. Which would leave you able to attack it. If it got too close, I could have hidden with the body of its comrade to buy you time to either escape or attack.

That was my original intention. That--not the stunt you pulled--is how you play as bait.

I know. I understood that was the plan. But from the position I was in, I didn't think I could have made it. Like I said, I gave up too soon. I was too shaken by the fear of failing to protect yet another person.

I truly am sorry, Kakashi. This isn't the kind of man I want to be.

Your role was not to protect in that arrangement. With me taking the rear, that was my job. In addition to that...

You want me to teach you a technique, but you disregard what has been said to you when things get tough. I won't make the mistake of teaching someone that won't listen again, understand? That is how things fall apart, how comrades kill comrades, how brothers kill brothers. If I'm going to make a mistake, it's not going to be one I've already made.
