What: Something odd?

[So hey. People in apartments A through H on Level 3 may be experiencing a bit of oddness. Any plant-life that they've recently gathered and brought back to their apartments seems to remain unusually fresh, or in some cases even start developing shoots and sprouts not long after they're brought back. Plants that are potted seem even more vibrant and healthy than even Thusia's naturally vigorous flora might account for (especially if those potted plants have been cleansed already).

AND for those people who are sensitive to the natural world, or sensitive to spirits and that sort of thing, they may notice, when walking through that particular hall or hanging out near or in the baths, that they might start seeing things out of the corner of their eyes. Something barely there, or wiggling or drifting and disappearing, like the specks one sometimes sees in their own eyes.]

It will not be just a stick for much longer.

Yeah I'm noticing that trend. [Wanders over to pick that stick up and toss it into a growing pile of things-that-are-sprouting-suddenly]

I think I might know what they are but I can't find where the box went. Ahh.. It's a lock-box about this big [describes one that's small enough to be carried in one's arms comfortably], I think it had drawers in it...

What are they, then?

[starts looking around for the box]

Maybe.. mushi? I don't really think that tells anyone anything much though. That's like saying it could be animals...

[shoving more junk around. If Tempest can pick up life signs that might help her a bit, though defining it as "life" is actually a little generous]

That tells me nothing, mm.

[she can pick up NATURE life signs, so shuffling around trying to zero in on it]

[It seems like there's a concentration of nature-y-ness in one of the corner piles, under a collection of baskets, sticks, and carving tools]

[diggin' through there then]

[She finds a box that looks something like this, if larger so it has room for more drawers and a little less ornate. Its contents rattle and clink a bit as she pulls it out from under the pile.]

Ah, that's where it went...

This is what you were looking for . . . ?

[holds it out to him]

[Taking it and brushing dust off and then just kind of... staring at it...]

I guess there are still things alive in there...

Those . . . mushi things?

Yeah. I don't actually know that much about them except a few specific cases. This was left with me when the person it belonged to got drafted.

[lifting the box a bit to look at the drawers...

As he does this Tempest may notice a small green glowing thing attached to the side of the box facing her]

. . . ah, there's something . . .

[It looks kind of like a snail, but as she looks it trembles a bit, slowly unwinding a bit... And then it leaps into her ear. Like a yeerk.]

[--turning the box carefully??]

[YELPS AND IMMEDIATELY BATS AT HER EAR]

[Jumps slightly (rattling the contents again, oops)]--What?? What happened?! [gingerly putting box down somewhere cleared off]

[rubbing at her ear. DOES IT FEEL LIKE SOMETHING'S IN THERE]

It . . . it jumped into my ear . . .

[It doesn't feel like there's anything there, actually. She just can't hear out of that ear now.]

Er, what did? I didn't see it...

[keeps rubbing at her ear, then taps it a few times]

How in the hell could you have missed it? I cannot hear . . .

[eyeing the box again]

Ah...

[GLARES AT HIM]

Should you not care for such a thing better than tossing it in a corner? How does one rid themselves of it?

I didn't toss it... Anyway I didn't think anything would happen to it if I didn't touch it for a while. Um... I can try stuff but we're probably gonna have to ask the actual owner how to deal with it... I guess I could try a letter...

In essence it is a box of spirits that should not be left under a bunch of junk! And now one is in my ear.

What is this "stuff" you can try?
