Good. I hate the cold.

It was warm where you're from, wasn't it?

Yeah. Where I stuck around wasn't as warm as northern Pyxis, but it was always nice weather.

I remember sandstorms . . .

I'm not sure where they were, though.

It's a little strange to think of north as being warmer, but it makes sense, if that's where the desert was.

—y-yeah. Sandstorms were more of a north thing. Happened all over Pyxis, really . . . but more frequently there.

[soundsinsilence]

[Looks at him, something . . . odd in her expression, fleetingly wistful . . .

And she turns and takes his hand in the same motion, tugging him to the ladders up to the dome.]

Ahh, but we won't see the panels at all, standing and talking like this . . . come on!

[at least, there's no tensing when she takes his hand. He just follows, sighing out heavily . . . and also, just a little wistfully]

I'm comin', I'm comin'.

[She's quiet the rest of the way up, and even a bit after—until they're high enough that she can sit by the first of the solar panels, legs dangling, and look out toward the far-off lake.]

. . . I don't . . . think it's a bad thing, when something reminds you of someone.

It just means, that first person . . . they're still part of your heart. That's all.

[sits down next to her, arms braced behind him as he leans back, eyes closed and head tilted up]

[Glances at him, relaxing a little moments after he does.]
