In your world, I would think it something almost unheard of, if not impossible. But in your world, your war gives such a relationship purpose and meaning; you share a common goal, and a deadline by which it must be obtained.
This is not your world. Those skilled in magic are finite in number, and those who maintain her level of nobility are even fewer, if they exist at all. She would not have much in the way of choices.
I wanted her to have one that would allow her to follow her wishes in regards to you and Archer, but that would not also trap her into another's rule.
