Shirou... was very quiet at first. It was difficult, knowing even how to draw him out of that shell. My own experience... I didn't want that for him, so I aimed for the opposite. A stable house in one place, friends nearby who could help, sending him to school.
It became more and more difficult, when I started to notice my abilities and health fading. I had told Shirou when I first took him in that I was a magus, so he was always eager to know more about it. I... didn't want him to be too involved in that sort of thing but taught him enough so that he could control what abilities he had, which weren't much, and know to hide it from view of the public.
I never told him why I left to go abroad those times...
