What: A not-so-long awaited return

[So for those who were curious about that counter that said "6 days" a couple days ago in the portal room next to the level 3 baths, the numbers on it have been jumping around the last couple of days, up and down, as if giving a live update of the haggling that's been going on behind the scenes.

Today the numbers run all the way down to zero suddenly and then is replaced with the following:

"Duration: approx 2-3 days"

With that the portal surface starts to ripple in the way that indicates that it's become permeable, and those who wander by the area may start to get the distinct smell of salty ocean air coming through it. Those on this side who try to push through it will find that although their hand disappears through the shadow layer of the portal, something that feels sort of like saran wrap blocks their hand on the other side, stretching under their weight but not letting them through.

Not so for the other side though, and if people stick around long enough they might get a surprise.]

MEANWHILE ON THE GOOD-END SIDE

[SO you may or may not have been informed that the portal is opening today. Those who have heard (and didn't stay behind to let others know) may have gathered in the cliff-side cave that overlooks the ocean. Thankfully there's a way up to the cave from a little inland and no one has to do any precarious cliff climbing over jagged rocks to get to the cave. The space has been cleared out and sealed off to prevent any nature from entering, a deep window on one wall opens up to a view of the ocean, and on the other side is a door-sized shadow, a portal.

Dathusropi is here hmphing and grumbling about uppity young gods and something about their lack of patience (not that he's one to talk) and he gives the portal a good whack with a stick and a transparent layer like the skin of a bubble appears over the surface.

Shortly after the portal starts to ripple gently, indicating it's become permeable.]


Hrmph! Well gwon, y'get maybe three days 'fore I come getcha if ya don't step back through 'fore the portal closes!
