I just remember there being an especially quiet, mild-mannered Vulpecula... and you don't resemble any of the other people on teams that would know me.

So, want to know what we're in store for now?

Might as well.

We have gods. Their original subjects had nature turn on them violently. They recruit the dead to rebuild civilization, after we deal with the poisonous plants and deadly animals that live everywhere on the planet, with the exception of three apartments. If we want anything -- including food that won't kill us or make us wish we were dead -- we have to trade them for it. Thankfully, many of them take bits of the animals we kill to purify the rest of it.

Also, I don't think you had any powers besides a real gift for people, but magic is weaker here.

[I sense your sarcasm in that last bit]

... oya. They're much better organized for controlling the population than the Judges were.

And, as far as I can tell, consider us a bit less interchangeable. Or at least the two I've talked to at least would prefer we not get ourselves killed so they had to bring in new people.

My, how frightening. Does that mean they won't revive us if we die again?

I didn't ask, but one said she had power over 'human creation'. She sounds like the god to ask.

I'd think reviving us would be easier than dredging up more souls, though. Our souls are already here.
