the song remains the same
Who: Participants... and those noticing something a little bit off
When: Day 128, Noon.
Where: Thusia
What: ALIGNMENT SWITCH EVENT - START
Something is changing in Thusia.
Well, a lot of things are changing in Thusia, actually. But something in particular is changing. Maybe you can't sense it - certainly nothing you can put your finger on - and maybe you don't care. On any other day, it might not even have anything to do with you. Change happens all the time, after all, all around you. It's usually easy enough to ignore it. To keep living your life the way you always have and to keep being the person you've always been.
Today, however, a celebration is taking place. There were no invitations issued, and there is no meeting place. Nobody told you there would be a party, and the party isn't for you anyway. It's for change.
It happens at noon directly, the second the sun reaches it's highest point. It happens like flipping a switch. You might be in the middle of a conversation, in the middle of doing something. You might be alone. But it happens suddenly - an urge, a thought - maybe subtle or maybe violently powerful.
Something changed.

[Hey.]

A lovely day, isn't it.
[Said a bit flatly.]
no subject
[Obviously, the best course of action is to give you an unusually bright smile!]
It is, really. Though I can't help but wonder if something's changed.

Do you want to know?

In Zen Buddhism, it is the word for when you are suddenly struck by a divine truth. A moment of clarity - epiphany, I guess you would say is the word.
no subject
Philosophy makes me itch. But go on. What exactly is your moment of clarity all about?
no subject
Do you think the world is worthy of existing?
no subject
What brings this to your mind today in particular?

That's the sticking point, really. My satori, I guess you could say. It's that all distractions have been done away with, and the things which are natural are revealed.
And, the truth is...
[She smiles a little bit. Somewhat ruefully.]

And the truth is.
[Turning to Lulubell and smiling wider now.]
I'm starving.

[She straightens, eyes narrowing a little.]

[Yukari takes a few steps back, and nods her head slightly.
Without making a sound, a tear in space opens behind Lulubell, and a shower of knives come shooting out.]
1/2
[gosh it's lucky that she has super duper special enhanced senses]
no subject
[Also, definitely might be some laughing in a less-than-sane way. She's been aching for a fight, and after all, she's feeling impulsive today.]
[Going to be a panther trying to get its jaws onto some part of you now.]
no subject
no subject
A... blunt weapon? Inelegant.
no subject
[Yukari holds the mace above her head, two handed, and charges forward, like she's going to try swinging it down on Lulubell's head --
Only to disappear into thin air --
And reappear again to her left, finishing the swing.]
no subject
[The laughter has risen in volume, though it's tinged with pain a little.]

A jolt seems to go through Yukari, like an electric shock. The sclera of her eyes go dark, as though they've been flooded with blood. She drops the mace.
Her mangled fingers, which ought to be useless, twitch to life, twist impossibly. Digging her fingernails in where the scythe ends and the wrist begins.
Yukari yanks Lulubell towards her and attempts to clamp her jaws (they're spread wider than a human's jaws should be, now) around the other woman's throat --]
