While I was in that cave place, and lost my memories, I made a friend. He was one of a very small number of truly kind people I have ever known, and he stood patiently beside me from the start, when I was still afraid of remembering myself, through the entire time my sanity was degrading, until I arrived at a place where I could accept myself again.

I also have memories of he and I in a previous life, but that's a different story.
